Biography

Alix Stria is an interdisciplinary designer, who is at home in Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna and Zurich (in alphabetical order) and recently graduated from the Design Department at the Sandberg Instituut. Obsessed with text and its texture, Alix explores words and letters, trying to find new meanings and coherences in-between legibility and expression. While thinking through the body and its relationship to text and typography, they investigate soft words and hard language with all their fragile inconsistencies. Since 2020, Alix shares Studio SMS, a collaborative design practice, with Katharina Shafiei-Nasab.
