Damos vueltas en la noche y somos consumidas por el fuego (We spin in the night and are consumed by fire) is a sound piece in collaboration Eva Geist for Las Malas, a show curated by Nuria Gomez Gabriel on view in La Casa Encendida, Madrid until September 2022. Departing from the materials of the investigation for the vampire film “Es Imposible No Puede Ser” (It is impossible it canot be), 2020, and the performative conference “Una película sin película” (A movie without a movie), Festival Domingo, 2021. The sound moves towards an experimental inner –shared– landscape. A dive into the beat and the heartbeat. An “active archive”, remixing sources and findings. A voice that speaks to you. The vampiric idea of circular time and transformation haunt the piece. All sounds were recorded and processed through several processes of extraction and transformation. Dancing movements translated to heartbeats, then recorded and postprocesed, records ripped, ambience sounds captured in magnetic video tapes, echoes from past conversations remembered and repeated. “¿Y qué te haría la película?” Dot design by Nicolò Pellarin
