Biography

Alban Karsten’s practice deals with intricate subjects, such as the conditions of labor, the influence of fear on architecture and product design, and the contemporary colonization of dubious goods. In the work, he combines his sculptural and anthropological background with a strong impulse for collaboration. The results are stories told through objects and (participatory) performances. He currently lives and works in Amsterdam, is a member of the artist collective Soft Landings, and was one of the founders of artist-run space De Gym.
