Student Circle was a student-led initiative that looked to deepen and complicate the role the student body plays within Sandberg Instituut, by focusing explicitly on the collective agency of the student body.
Student Circle aimed to do this by supporting and programming peer-to-peer or student-led initiatives; by promoting cross course dialogue; by looking to deal with recurrent issues that the school seems to be missing, by helping students navigate the institution, particularly when they’re looking to voice any opinions or objections; and by paying close attention to the social life of the institution. Importantly, we look to do all of this at the level of the student body instead of deferring to the administrative structures of the school.
One of the main questions we focused on was: Can we democratise the school, not necessarily by tearing down structures, but instead by building out from the base?
