Poltergeist

The squatting group Mokum Kraakt organised a public exhibition, curated by Lukas Engelhardt, in their first squat Hotel Mokum, for which they invited artists to bring tables, chairs or beds - the objects officially needed for taking over a space in the Netherlands. For this purpose a regular lounge chair was manipulated. By removing material and attatching other, Elisabeth wants to renegotiate ownership over the object and space it is placed in. Visually inspired by mythical tales around house ghosts who haunt cursed living areas, she wanted to create a very own poltergeist for Hotel Mokum to support their claimed ownership. She invited Insa Deist for making nail art for the Poltergeist.
