woven stories

Woven stories is a research project about traditional weaving techniques in India. Together with Anna Merlo, I travelled to different parts of India during the summer of 2019. Our goal was to gain insight into different approaches and practices. We were hoping to learn more about traditional techniques as well as new and contemporary methods in the textile industry. The research and the documentation was an inspiration for our own textile work. Photography and weaving on small frame looms were our mediums of documentation.
