NEWS on Archaeodreaming

NEWS is a compass for (dis)orientation devised during a residency of research at the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies in Venice. The investigation focused on the historical mapping of the columns of San Marco, their origin and provenance. Eventually, the period of research generated the foundation of Archaeodreaming. The conjunction of displaced cardinal points with Hypnos —the ancient Greek God of Sleep, and Inemuri Now —the Japanese practice of sleeping in public space, generates a form of individual and social dreaming. Archaeodreaming objective is to re-trace the coordinates of Past-Present-Future, in a constant search for Utopia.
