Paraquita de barrio

Paraquita de Barrio is the result of a research process that took place in May 2019 at the La B artist residency in Medellin, Colombia. This city has had a close relationship with Mariana's life because her family is a native of the city and has always had a love/hate relationship, starting from this duality she decides to understand the city again through trips with local agents of the cinema and fashion circuit. She seeks to unlearn about her prejudices and wants to reconstruct a new image of this place. The encounters and misunderstandings about the social interactions she has with the civil population of Medellin are what construct the character "paraquita de barrio" that will become the main character of this exploration. With this he seeks to evoke in the feeling of taking justice with his own hands in other words makes a direct mockery of the constant Paramilitarism that inhabits the heart and reality of Medellin.
