Weaving Futures | Foodscaping

Anna Garcia Gomez, Siwar Kraitem, and Samira Vogel, students of Temporary Programme Disarming Design (2020–2022), alongside Ola Allaf, Sadiqeh Eftekhhari Danesh, Fiyori Estinfanos Dawit, and Bascam Hatice held the workshop Foodscaping as part of Weaving Futures at A Gadder Museum, Luxembourg in July 2021.

In this workshop we will be covering different aspects of our relationship to food. From exchanging recipes to preserving vegetables, discovering local food production, different fermentation processes and baking sourdough bread; in this week we will build connections to one another and our surroundings. Everyday we hope to end with a meal together. This workshop proposes a grounded view on food that reclaims traditional and popular food cultures. Together, we will learn about different food cultures and recipes and create an atmosphere of sharing, learning and experiencing through our culinary journeys. We will share techniques to preserve certain foods, bind our own recipe book and in the end give everyone a piece of kefir starter, sourdough starter and a kombucha scoby in order to ferment your own foods and drinks at home . . .
